Elements of art

The main elements of art consist  of line, shape, form, color, value, texture and space.
Line is an element of graphic expression that can lead the eye, define shape. Line can indicate different directions such as horizontal, oblique, and vertical.
Shape is implied threw the use of line and texture. Shape is a 2D external appearance and is able to be both negative and positive depending on the goal of the artist.
Form is described as mass. Form unlike shape is 3D altho both maybe freeform, geometric, natural or man made.
Color is a result of reflection of light by a surface. The whiter the light, the more true the color will be.
Texture can be the illusion of touch or the actual physical touch. Texture is produced by natural forces or through an artist’s manipulation of the art elements.
Value is the relative degree of light or dark, the characteristic of color determined by light or dark, or the quantity of light reflected by the color.
Space Actual space is a three dimensional volume that can be empty or filled with objects. It has width, height, and depth. Space in a painting is an illusion that creates a feeling of depth.

Semester Test

This semester, I learned to think outside the box, and that doing new things is okay too. Trying new subjects as well as new materials. Next year By taking 3D art and advanced, I hope to be able to combine what I did this year and the stuff I will learn in 3D. I like making things have texture that pops out at you. I would like to do more 3D projects with lots of detail next year. I admired a lot of what 3D art did this year. In advanced I hope to find even more techniques to try, as well as materials. I saw someone paint on a nightstand, I thought that was neat and would like to try more things like that. I have a lot of ideas that i hope to try next year and even over the summer. I enjoyed the book idea next year I hope to try more ideas with that. I found that I enjoy making large projects, but its hard to finish in a short amount a time. Next here I'm really excited to have two art classes in a row. I think I'm going to try and enter more things into art fair next year in more categories. I enjoyed this year, but I probably could've gotten a lot more finished if i put more effort into it. I can't wait for next year.

Squares~

i used acrylic on canves. I like using acrylics, i like the colors and texture look it gives the painting.

semester test

In art this semester i learned that creativity is good if you just let it flow. I also learned that time is on your side use it. There is no reason to rush. I learned that when you rush you wont get the best results. I think that from here on out I'm going to try and do unexpected things and take my time. I like all the projects I've done this year. I think that i just could have done better if i took my time. I hope this will turn out in better art work.

Doves

I used fine and extra fine point sharpies, to show different values. I learned that doing the the picture in pencil is always a good idea. The hardest part was doing the  birds in dots, it was time consuming.

Word Monster(:

I did a monster and instead of lines i used words commonly associated with monsters. I used pencil and went over with pen. I learned that its not always easy coming up with ideas.
